Does anyone here know if any car parts manufacturer makes a "larger than stock" oil pan for the CRD? Greddy makes several for numerous racer imports and I think I've read a post here before about a member having one. I've searched this forum to no avail, anyone remember the post in question or have any other info?

Backstory: Went to change my oil last night and when I was screwing the oil plug back in I came to find out that the threads on the oil pan had been stripped. Odd considering that I always torque the screw correctly, I need to get a Fumoto anyway...

Have heard through the people trying to put this motor in the JK that they are huge $$$$.
Know any aluminum welders? Now is that MIG or Tig?
If you find a source please let us know.

I have a Fumoto. After draining the oil out I pulled the fumoto to see how much there was held back by the long threaded tube; quite a bit. The fumoto has lost it's shine for me. Maybe I should cut it back some.
Just too lazy to order a new plug.
Now where did I put the old one?

Go get a metric thread-sert repair kit to restore the pan - other than that, there is no available real estate for larger oil pan - also, if you'll get down under there and notice the area in front the filter, the oil pan is also the major galleries to and from the oil filter - an exact-size duplicate could be not-easily done in sheet-metal, but there's nothing like cast-aluminum to provide the rigidity required to seal the to and from pressure ports in most heat\cool expansion scenarios
