Spanking new CRD manual shift for $11.5K located in the US. I assume this score is only possible with some fancy VIN work and a cousin from the Bahamas. I guess we can dream... http://cgi.ebay.com/Jeep-Liberty-Sport- ... 7C294%3A50 |

We's gonna be a third world country soon. I think the proposed name change is to Bam-bab-uwe. Of course Chrysler will be out of business anyway. Nice ride but the auto tranny is very sweet. We will soon need solid axles, that is why I want a CRD in the JK st-wrangler 4 door. |

Curioser and curioser.......very odd that it's 'not for sale to US customers' - $2000 down non refundable, cash only or bank transfer - is there a Hollywood Florida in the Bahamas, or Jamaica?? Could commit to buy it now at 6am, fly out there early a.m. to check it out, retain a white, english-speaking attorney to oversee negotiations and verify legalities, incl actual vehicle ownership and supply source - maybe some guy in Sweden was just informed his new Liberty was lost at sea, having fallen out of the shipping container on a Liberian tanker (B4 it left the docks!) .................... |

If you want weird, US Virgin Islands drives on the Left and the steering wheels are on the Left side too, been there done that too. It must be so they can see the ditch better. |

Spent 2 years over in Scotland driving a Honda scooter on their side of the road. Got so used to it, first time I took my car out for a drive after getting back to the U.S., it took 1/2 mile and an oncoming car to remind me which side I was supposed to be on. Fortunately, it was in a subdivision with a 30 mph limit. Often wonder if that other guy was as momentarily freaked as I was - he probably still recounts on occasion about that frakkin Navy idiot in a blue Mustang driving on the wrong side of the road. |

Does anyone remember the new 05 that had a slight body blemish that got put aside at the end of the line at the factory and was forgotten about that showed up on some auction? this might be the same kind of deal. The one I"m refering too was quite a topic as it had not had f37 done to it |

Good one! We went to England once, and my dad never got the hang of that left side driving style. Once in the city he was making a left turn, and when he turned he went past the vehicle (on the right side) across the pavement and back onto the left side of the road afterwards I bet that was pretty funny to some of the not-scared onlookers. |

I England at the time, most of the solders were/still are right handed. When charging on a horse to get your opponent with the sword or spear it is better to pass on the left. Hence driving on the left side of the road. I America, rifles and muskets were the state of the art weapon when the country was forming. When you are traveling on a horse with a rifle and most solders are right handed, you are more stable and can make a better shot at your opponent by steadying the rifle with the other hand when you are passing on the right. Hence driving on the right side of the road evolved. Old habits die hard so now we know the why. Now watch some Kook will want to overturn the Second Amendment and have every one drive on the left in the Western Hemisphere because I wrote this response. Does some one else want to cover the Bow Man's salute to the French? |

Speaking of Chrysler going out of business, what happened to the Chrysler outboard motors, i remember my dad telling me that he would never buy a Chrysler outboard motor for his boat and we always saw them with their covers off more than on |

Ahh yes - which battle was it, Agincourt? The English archers using longbows were so deadly and accurate with their fire, that the French threatened before the battle to cut off the middle and index fingers on the "bow hand" of any English archers they captured. The English got word of this, and on the day of battle as the opposing forces lined up, the English archers held up their hands, back of the hand forward, index and middle fingers displayed in a "V", as a gesture of defiance toward the French. This lived on and evolved into a common gesture of defiance and insult, now commonly referred to as "Up the Queen", still common across the pond. At some point, at least on this side of the ocean, it was simplified to just the middle finger - but the meaning remained the same. And the simple difference between "V for Victory" and "Up the Queen" is the direction of the palm - back of the hand toward the other person, you're flipping them off - palm outwards towards the other person, "V for Victory". Back in '91, I was watching Daddy Bush on a visit to the Far East (the same one where he threw up at a formal dinner). He was in Austrailia, leaving from some meeting in a limo. There were some Austrailian farmers outside protesting our agricultural policies. Dear old Dad went to flash them the "V for Victory" sign as a gesture of goodwill - except he had the back of his hand facing toward them. I immediately recognized the gesture, and literally was ROTFLMAO, so hard I had tears coming down my cheeks. Right there live on CNN, beamed to literally billions of people around the globe in real time, our dumb SOB of a President had literally flipped the bird to an entire country! It took CNN and our august President nearly an hour to tumble as to what he'd just done, and offer a red-faced apology, saying he'd meant to give the "V" sign - instead of telling one of our closest allies to go fornicate themselves. |

..Old man Bush caught one of the strains of the First Gulf War, Gulf War Illnesses. After that, he threw up in Japan, and did a lot of other stupid stuff when he was sick with it. What froths me was the response of DOD and later the VA that was total denial of the existence of any of the Gulf War Illness and the side effects like still births and birth defects. Later on it was determined there were multiple causes from bacteria, viruses, formaldehyde poisoning due to the Aspartame Soda Pop getting too hot, and other toxic stuff used in wars. Bush caught the bacterial variation and was treated with Tetracycline, but not soon enough to help prevent the escapades that are now part of History. |

Back to the RHD. I would have bought that exact vehicle LHD if it was offered. It is so dumb that the US doesn't get All of the same offerings as other countries. ESPECIALLY ones built here. |
