Is the hitch on a CRD strong enough to use as a rear recovery point? I have a drilled insert with a shackle pin that I have used but I want to be certain this is safe. Thanks, Tony.

Yep!

I am not certain how strong "drilled insert" is, maybe post a picture? The hitch is strong enough though.
