I am considering adding the ProVent setup to reduce the oil/slime in my intake on my CRD. I am considering the value of removing and cleaning the intake manifold first, I have 88K on my Jeep and constantly have the CEL battles and MAP clogged deal going on.

Question is has anyone done this? It looks to be a full day job and if I were to do it I would replace the timing belt as well.

Any input, ideas would be great and thank you in advance.

full day job would be if you're really, really good and have all the tools.

the intake is part of the head - camshafts come off with it.

My suggestion, do the provent straight away, sort out the EGR while your at it if not yet done and wait for the standard service schedule for the timing belt etc. Do the first 2 things and youll prolly cure your check light/MAP clogging issue anyway. Gives you a bit more time to think about the other stuff.
