I am trying my hardest to figure out exactly what makes the SP turbo timer so special, and why I need to pay such an outlandish price for such a rudimentary unit?

SP Diesel announces the launch of the All-New Engine Shutdown Timer. This drastically revised product sports features NOT available elsewhere on any turbodiesel cooldown timer at a price you won't believe.
You won't need a pyrometer, or to spend $300 or more to get a truly easy cool-down solution. You also don't need to arm the unit each time you leave the truck. The Microprocessor monitors the ignition circuit at an overkill speed of 1 million times per second looking for your key to go to the off position. Once that event has occured, the Shutdown Timer goes to work. You set the time, it does the rest. Standard run time of 0-10 minutes. During the winter, 2-3 minutes is more than sufficient for proper cooldown, and during the summer 5-7 minutes is the most you'd need. Need to stop at the convenience store to grab a coffee or slurpee? Set the run time to max, and you have 10 minutes to work with. The built in anti-theft will kill the truck the minute the brake is depressed. If you are a contractor or are in the pickup and delivery business, or just need a custom solution, you can inquire about custom programming options.
How does SP Diesel offer these products at these incredible prices? Well for starters, we design, test and build our products. We don't simply rebadge other boxes that aren't even assembled in the USA.
Engine Shutdown Timer Key Features
"Set it and Forget it"
Why should you have to 'arm' the timer each time you leave the truck? We don't think you should. Other timers use a 555 timer based circuit that requires a reset each time to function properly. This EST doesn't require your intervention unless you want to change run time. Pull the key and go!
Microprocessor based control unit
That's right. This EST shows up for game day with lots of horsepower. You won't find a shutdown product this advanced for the price. PERIOD.
Firmware Upgradeable
Standard run-time option not enough? Need a custom solution? Let us know. We customize your timer to your exact needs.
Infinitely Adjustable from in the cab
Simple Single Switch allows time adjustment at any time except when the timer is active.
Easy to Install
Spend less time installing and more time enjoying!
Anti-Theft Feature
Once the key has been removed, brake pedal will kill truck. Other options may be possible as well. Inquire with an email to us.
Park Light Indicator Option or Accessory Power Kit
The EST has the option to illuminate your park lights. A simple extra hookup is required. This is an option since extra parts are required.
Made in the USA
Not outsourced, built in the USA.
Custom Programming available
Custom Solutions to meet your specifications at a fair upcharge (may add to ship time)
How on earth does this justify a $169.99 price tag when units from companies like Greddy, A'Pexi, Blitz, and a myriad of others have more options, better user interface, and fully automatic timing functions for less than half the price?
Help me here, what am I missing besides "made in the USA," the only feature a better optioned and cheaper unit doesn't have.
