yeah, that same guy had another one for sale recently. Now he has 7 of them. Now, if he will accept my left gonad in exchange for one, I will perform the orchiectomy myself. |

He had 7 of them in FL? I wonder if he was going through the motions to legally import. |

If you note the comments on some of the other posts - it sounded like they had been ordered for overseas and then canceled at the last minute although it's Boca Raton - and I don't think that's a major port so I'm not sure why they'd end up there. |

Being stationed in Europe, and Japan for a number of years, I personally looked into getting vehicles back. What it came down to was it needed to be 25yrs or older to be exempt from regulations. If that wasn't the case, as with this '09, you would have to bring over 4+ to the states, 3 for crash test worthiness, and one for emissions with the EPA. Now, I know these vehicles are the SAME things that roll off the SAME assembly lines, just bound for overseas markets.... evidenced by the "1" in the first position of the VIN, meaning final assembly plant is in the good ole USA. That was why I asked if there were 7 available, was the seller bringing them in for the tests required for "legal importation?" Even if you have a friend in PR that is willing to bring it back to the states for you.. it is impossible. Thankfully my wife's toy was an '82, so we brought it back home from Japan. |

I think the EPA stinks!!!! why not sell a diesel enigine that uses less fuel than a gas engine? I would think if you burn less fuel you would in general introduce less pollution.....but that must be just my insane logic at work. I am however glad to see that the same engine in my CRD is still used even if only overseas markets can buy one. I like the new style liberty but like the body style of mine better, to me its more handsome looking and has more Character than the newer style does. The KK looks more modern and boxy like other vehicles on the road now. |

Diesels actually have a lower carbon footprint than a gas engine of the same displacement. Too bad *some* people out there rip out the cats, and drive like total jack asses, only giving Diesels a bad name in the states. mikey1273 wrote: I think the EPA stinks!!!! why not sell a diesel enigine that uses less fuel than a gas engine? The KK looks more modern and boxy like other vehicles on the road now. A diesel with a CAT has a higher carbon foot print than one without. The catalytic converter finishes burning any unburnt hydrocarbons left in the exhaust, thus adding more CO2 to the atmosphere. Removing the CAT also makes the smell from biodiesel burning drivers much less offensive. I don't see how having a cat or not can change the driving habits of a given person. Learn some physics, then bash the modifiers. |
