| Post subject: | HELP!! Looking for the TSB about dipstick |
Hey guys I am going to go fight with the dealer Monday about the oil light coming on. Since Carmax can't deal with diesels, they sent it to a local dealer who says after two weeks they can not duplicate the oil light. I am being told the it was low on oil. NO IT WAS NOT. I just did an oil change 600 miles ago and put exactly 6.4 Quarts in. I am trying to get all the info I need to prove that the dipstick is wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Michael |

Thanks Khaki-Kj for that TSB#. Joe, I have both the 05 owners manual and the 06. My 05 copy is in the jeep, but the 06 manual says on page 361 2.8L = 6.4 Qts. I'll check the 05 when I get to the dealer. Thanks, Michael |

FYI - it easily takes 30 minutes or more for the oil to drain back to the crankcase after running that's why you check the oil cold before you start if you check hot - it'll say it's low and if you add oil - it'll be overfull. (and by the same token if they checked it hot - they'll say it's low) |

Or you can do what I just did. Run a ph8a size filter and run a full 7 qts. No isses here. |
