http://www.oereplacement.com/partInfo.php?ID=R-FF-9114 Has anyone tried this filter? At $13, it is very inexpensive. Have any dealers said that they could not order just the fuel filter, but would have to order the fuel filter and head together? I think my new dealer is confused, mis-informed or both. |

that looks identical to our OEM replacement filter. I get mine from NAPA, and it looks just like it. If I'm not mistaken, the NAPA filters are made in China. Maybe the manufacturer is trying its hand at wholesaling? My dealer did the same thing! I called about getting the filter done, and they quoted me $200+ to change the filter and the head unit. I said "No, thanks!" A week or so later I saw the write up in the tech section on changing the filter, took the plunge and bought one from NAPA and did it myself in about 45 minutes, for $30. Word to the wise, if you've never changed it before, get a good pair of filter pliers, the ones that open really wide. The first time I changed mine, it was the factory filter and was a beast to get off. |

Looks a lot like a pre TDI VW fuel filter only 1 1/2" longer. They do have the same threads and gasket diameters. If it is 2 Micron, that would be great. I hope it is not another 10 Micro like the pre TDI VWs. I sent an email to them and will post their reply. |

In the parts manual - there's a Fuel Filter - which is the filter only and a Fuel/Water separator - which is the entire unit. and in the Service schedule - it says change the Fuel/Water separator so if you go to a dealer - expect them to make a mistake |

and in the Service schedule - it says change the Fuel/Water separator so if you go to a dealer - expect them to make a mistake If you see toilet paper around the top, drive off. Typically only 25% of the dealers are any good when it comes to parts and service, the rest should be called what our members use to describe them Stealers, no offense intended to Pittsburgh fans. |
