Has anyone seen this before? The banjo bolt from the front caliper appears to be losing the metalic coating, the metalic flakes were on the rag when I cleaned the bolt and it seems that it is also in the brake fluid. I was changing the brakes on my wife's 2006 CRD and decided to install SS lines with some Bear rotors and Hawk pads. I was really surprised to see these metal flakes and can't imagine that it is good for the system if these are making the way down into the system. I had to stop work and am looking for the replacement bolts now.
Check out the picture, around the fluild hole all the material is missing and on the backside of the bolt it is there and shinny.
