Hi, all, I've got a 2005 CRD Limited with automatic. It does something that I haven't exerienced in other slushboxes. When accelerating, the engine RPM stays pretty much the same up through the first few gears, until I hit 50 mph. At that point, RPM's lower to around 1700 and steadily rise up to 57mph. So far so good, I think. But it's during this last shift that odd things happen: If I have my foot in the throttle to any degree, at the point where the shift occurs there's a 500-700 RPM jump before the next gear engages. No codes registered or anything. But this sure seems like a sloppy shift to me. Any/everybody else have this issue? Or is this indicative of a line pressure problem or something? |

I think you may be feeling the studder that all the CRD's have. I don't think they have come up with a way to fix it yet. Wes |

This started happening to mine after I got some software updates. If you notice, it does it through all the gears...it's just the last one that is so dramatic. My rev's are now about 500 RPM's higher than they were before if I get on it hard. But it feels so good! Hope this helps. Dave |

Mine does the exact same thing. Unrelated to the tranny shudder. I get that sometimes too, but it feels different. I think what you and I notice is the T/C unlocking and relocking between the 4-5 shift to cause the jump in rpm. |

No shift problems or any other problems now at 4,000 miles and last highway fuel check was 31 mpg will cruising mostly at 73 mph. |
