REVISED EPA Ratings: 19 CITY /21 MIXED /23 HIGHWAY

I for one am interested in the MPG numbers for other CRDs.

1) Post Year of your CRD

2) Post whether
a) "stock"
b) "stock" plus SEGR or unplugged MAF sensor
c) "stock" plus MODULE (Plug and Play Type...ie Trailjammer, SP, ect)
d) InMotion Tuner
e) GreenDieselEngineering (ECO, ECO Hot)

3) Method of calculating MPG (By hand with Miles/Gallons...or other)

4) MPG Number (mostly city, mostly highway, 50/50 mixed)

EXAMPLE:

2006 CRD

Stokc plus SEGR and ECO Hot Tune

Actual Miles (GPS Verified) divided by Gallons

23.6 All City Stop n' Go so far

***Pre GDE ECO Hot was 20.2mpg***

First highway MPG=31.42

05 CRD

Stock w/ GDE Eco

By hand - miles & gallons

22 to 24 city only

31 to 33 Hwy only @ 65 to 70 per GPS
24 to 26 Hwy only pre tune @65 per GPS

Tire Size 225/75/16

Through tire size in - as will be upsizeing those soon and will affect MPG's

06 Limited ECO tune

All city short trips 22-25 mpg. (previous 17-19)
Highway, 25-28 mpg (previous (19-23)
Highway pulling 17' 3500# camping trailer, 20 on flat ground and 18 in hilly/mountains. Previous (14-17)
All figures are hand calculated using odometer numbers with stock tires. GPS shows my odometer around 5% low
Fuel makes a very big difference and we get the worst of the worst in Central Ohio  20 pulling the camper is with 45 cetain bought in Virginia :D

2006 CRD

Stock unplugged MAF sensor, + Full Mopar Skids, Unique Steel Wheels and Cooper Discover ATR's

MPG calculated by hand with Miles/Gallons. With 4% correction for odometer. Not including adding PS and sometimes TC-W3.

4) Diligently used fueleconomy.gov site past 16 months my overall average is 24 mpg with probably a average of 50%+ being city.

Latest highway Denver to Rapid City loaded w/ 3 passengers was 28.6 mpg w/ over 30 min of idle.

Worst 2 tanks of 100% Stop & Go city driving with AC 20.1 & 20.9 mpg.
Best Albuquerque to Denver w/ 1 passenger and AC some idle was 29.3 in July.

About 26 mpg, click the fuelly link in my sig. Mileage is based on GPS, not odometer.

85% highway, 15% city/ idling.

I think my sig has all my mods. I try to run 44 psi in my tires. Lib is unlifted stock height. (Man I need to change that. . . )

I'm jealous from previous reports; 05-06 build date; Inmotion eco tune; 235 /85R summer tires; 235/70R winter tires; homemade provent; unpluged map sen; all syn. oils; 2.5 lift; arb front bumper; drummmmmrolllllll-----19.2 on road trip to Palmer with winter fuel; winter tires with 38psi; hand calculated and used GPS. With the summer tires and summer fuel I got 24 MPG on same trip. Don't drive very fast because or our dragonian speed limits(55). Also my tranny shudder is getting worse. Whats my cure??????

Post subject:

The cure for the shudder is the Euro JK CRD Torque Convertor...the bandage which helps a bit I believe is a tube of Dr Tranny or LubeGuard (they are basically the same).

The GDE ECO tune is going to get the best overall mpg figures IMHO. The GDE HOT tune is not going to mimic those numbers but will get you better than stock city mpg with conservative driving and match the ECO tune on highway mpg...all with much better driveability. I have no experience with InMotion.

Post subject:  Thanks Darby

I've been reading the posts on the replacement converter, just have to get other transportation going and get with my dealer on availability. I think my winter tires are making a dent in the figures also as they're over an inch shorter in dia. Would really like to find some 215/85R 16's with studs but to no avail at this time. Thanks for your reply.

2005 CRD

Suncoast, Transco, Inmotion, SEGR, ORM, Provent, CAT2, Samco hoses, hood louvers, V6 airbox, 2.5" cat back no muffler

Actual Miles (GPS Verified) divided by Gallons

740 miles 19.45 gallons to top off from previous top off.

38.04 MPG.

That milage was done at 60 MPH on flat highway for the entire distance.

My average city/highway mileage around the Seattle area is 32 MPG.

Something just stinks here. How can the same vehicle have such a wide disparity in milage. I can see a few MPG one way or the other but twice as much?????? What can make such a difference?????? I try and coax all the milage I can from my vehicles but the last two I've bought have me looking at the bicycle more and more. A 2008 Dodge with a diesel that gets 13 on a good day and a 2006 Jeep Liberty that gets 19.2. The God's are definatly not shinning on me. The 97 Ford I traded in on the Dodge got 21 on summer fuel and I really am kicking myself. I picked up a Rabbit Pickup with a rust and dent free body this summer and have a doaner jetta with a turbo and 5 speed so hope it saves me somwhat from going broke buying fossil fuels. Sorry for the rant but just can't understand how the he// they can kick out two riggs from the same factory with same riggin and get such different numbers.

1) 2005 Sport
2)Stock Plus GDE ECO tune, minus muffler
3)Calc by hand adding 3% to the odometer reading to reflect ODO inaccuracy
4)30.6 winter dsl, 33.5 summer dsl. Click on fuelly image for more details, mostly hwy (speed 65-70 lately its been closer to 70)

I have a 2005 Liberty CRD basic stock but installed AMSOIL 5w40 with EaO34.
Has anyone tried going 2.5" exhaust from the turbo back? Looking for milage without spending a pile of cash. Tune will come later but want to do the simple stuff first.

Post subject:  Re: Documented Mileage Figures

1) 2005 CRD Limited

2) Post whether
e) GreenDieselEngineering (ECO, ECO Hot)
I have the HOT tune and the Euro TC and no clutch fan

3) I calculate by hand. Fill up each time, document gallons needed to fill and miles driven on that tank, etc.

4) MPG Number (19 city, 26 highway, 23 mixed)

I towed a U-haul trailer with my buddy's Tacoma 4x4 on it this weekend. Weighed in at a Flying J truckstop and came to a total of 10,660 lbs. GCW. I was getting upper-teens MPG towing this load, and 5th gear lockup would pull hills on the interstate pretty good. Very impressed considering everything.

Post subject:  Re: Documented Mileage Figures

1) 06 CRD Limited
2) GDE Eco tune (recently, 3 fill ups ago)
3) calculate odo miles at fill up
4) MPG city 20-22, hwy 27, used to get 19-22 city and 25/26 hwy w/o GDE. Have not towed my trailer yet to see MPG impact.
5) Provent, SAMCO hoses, Goodyear AT/KO tires.
