Hello, We have owned our CRD for almost a year. Today while driving home a strong smell of smoke (similar to cigarettes but neither of us smoke) came out of no where. Any ideas what this could have been? The vehicle was driving fine in full-time 4-hi at the time. Thanks |

Check your CAC (intercooler) hoses for cracks...Check your CCV hose also. Sounds like you could have a split and "dirty" air is coming out. |

Also take off your engine cover and listen to the engine. I had a couple fuel injectors that developed compression leaks. It made small hisses of combustion gases, and it smelled strongly of exhaust when stopped in traffic. |

Does your heater blower work on all 4 speeds? If not then the blower resistor has burned out. It's in the air box and you could smell it if it burned out. The replacement for a 02-04 (?) Sebring is an upgraded one and is available from Advanced Auto Parts for under $30 Mine went bad and I used the search function and found a thread in the 4X4 section |

Same thing happened to me. CCV was bad and leaking under the hood. |
