Post subject:  Help with glow plug connector

Hi,
Have determined that I have suspect #2 glow plug. I had a MIL, scanned and found "P1263 Glow plug 2 control circuit low".
Checked the resistance on each plug at the module connector (as recommended by ATXKJ) and found 1,3 & 4 to read 0.9 ohms, #2 was 70 ohms.
Now, how do I remove the plastic connector boot on the glow plug itself??. I have tried with much swearing and cursing but I dare not pull too hard and break the sucker.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated from those who have replaced their own glowplugs. Is there a trick I am missing?

They should just pull straight off with very little force.

Thanks dirtmover but that is not working here.
Is this what your connector looks like?

my connector looks the same

the glow plug has a ridge at the end - it might be stuck from age/heat

you might try just rotating the connector a few times - it it's stuck it should pop free

Thanks guys for all your help.
It seems that after nearly five years the connectors were slightly corroded on.
I definitely couldn't move them by simple pulling with my fingers. I eventually made a slip knot from some strong but thin string and hooked the loop under the base of the plug. I then grabbed the two ends of the string with some pliers and a couple of hard yanks popped them free. Once they were removed the first time they went on and off quite easily.
It also turned out that it was #3 that was faultly because I had not checked the pin numbers in the relay plug correctly. So the intake elbow had to be removed also.
While it was out I replaced #2 & #3 because I only had two spare plugs and these two positions are the most difficult to get to. I also replaced the relay.
I also cleaned out the intake elbow and FCV while I was at it. You should have seen the crud that came out of the elbow (pic below).
Both glow plugs looked about the same with some slight build up on the tips but no obvious cracks or missing pieces.
All good now.
Cheers
