Howdy folks!

The lever that locks the adjustable steering column on my 2006 Liberty CRD has become loose (or comes loose very easily). Anybody have info on how to tighten it up again?

Thanks,

Trebor

Wow! Nobody has had their steering column come loose (up-down movement) while going over bumps? I think this could be a potentially dangerous situation. I looked through the FSM but not able to determine what the mechanics of this are.

Anyhow, hope somebody has an idea for me.

Thanks!

Do you mean the lever on the side of the steering column that adjust the height of the steering wheel? If so mine has come loose a couple of times but only off road and it was kinda Hairy. Landy Has been posting on this, I think the dealer told him he would have to replace the whole column.

Mine always comes loose when off road so much so that it stays unlocked.

Not a problem with normal driving though. Just pull the panel down and look at it.
