Just wondering how much has affected your fuel mileage. I realize tire size and type are a factor as well, just wondering what sort of numbers people have for there individual set-ups....?

There is no question that the added lift creates more wind drag, which drops economy. However, I find that on the KJ we are lifting such a small amount that it's not nearly as much of an issue as the tires. The increase in tire size and weight makes a bigger difference. I think most are seeing 2-4 MPG drop. My setup cost me around 2 MPG from what I can tell.

3mpg hit

Went to MTR's ~50 lb/tire + ARB - kills the minimal aerodynamics that existed

I haven't realized any difference with the OME lift, if there is its insignificant.

Started out with 26 mpg. Added lift, tires, armor and bumpers and dropped to 18 mpg. Re-geared and now I'm, at 21 mpg.

Lost about 1 mpg easily with the roof basket on. About 3 lost after the lift. Going from the stock 39# tires and wheels to a 60# setup per corner was the biggest hit. That seems to be about 3 to 4 - no longer in the 30's mpg wise (or even close any more) . Waiting to see how things change after the winter blend fuel goes away for more realistic numbers.

But hey, it still beats my TJ by a ton - so no complaints. :jester:

Running 225 75 16's and E load rating (a bit heavier than normal) 3" lift. I started w/ a bad thermostat and lifted right away, didn't seem to make a difference, but with bad thermostat economy was average 18-22 to work and back. I think I was so low to start, that it didn't make much of a difference.

I just installed GDE Hot tune and 192* thermostat. It seems much better, EVIC is currently 28.5...a huge improvement compared to old evic, but I haven't calculated this tank yet. I would agree that tires are more significant than just the lift. Not a lot more drag from control arms and rear axle sitting a bit lower...probably a bit more drag in the wheel wells as well, and more air hitting the tires now. If you stay skinny on the tires you won't see much of a difference, but if you go wider, that adds much more weight and drag. Tall and skinny 235/85 is a good combo for height if you can clear them, but less stable than like a 245/75 or 265/75 or 265/70. I myself plan on 245/75. Not sure If I want E load rating again, helps in stability and cornering, but adds tire weight/probably hurts economy a bit (not sure how much, might be worth keeping the E rating). Also probably a bit more driveline and CV shaft friction at the lifted angles. All in all I personally am happy with the 3" total lift and mpg combo with the GDE Hot tune and new thermostat. Makes for a great all around vehicle. :)

I didn't see a difference until I switched to a LT rated tire. Lost 2 mpg with them.
