After reading CRD Joe's post looking for non dealer mechanics in the Seattle area, I thought this might be good info to compile. Maybe a stickie?

I'm off warranty in August and would be happy to find someone good in Calgary.

I am off warranty and I too will be needing the timing belt done soon.

Any CRD mechanic in the Western Connecticut area?

Not sure I would call my self a "mechanic", but I'm more than the oil change guy....lol. I'm always happy to help fellow CRD owners. Shoot me a PM if your in the area (Colorado springs, Colorado 80925). I've done the t-belt, water pump, intercooler, thermostat, fan clutch (or lack there of), modified the front swaybar (stiffened it), installed a lift, and a few other mods on my CRD. Done alot on everything from carbureted to the latest fuel injected cars (Own a C5 corvette with fully modded suspension and reflashed ECU). I own a metal lathe, metal mill, welder, shop press, pipe bender, drills, saws, cutters, and other essentials. :)

I'm in South Louisiana about 60 miles WNW of New Orleans. Got the T-Belt job coming up in about 25K and going to install a lift and some other goodies this summer. I would really like to know if there is someone around here that can work on my CRD, in case something major happens and she requires surgery.

For AZ, Reliable Diesel over in Mesa is good for everything from oil changes to timing belt replacements and more.

LOL, I'll take that as a compliment... :)

- TDIwyse...I am currently working on your thermostat housing by the way. I'm off today :) I have all 4 cores machined, just need to drill/tap and then machine and drill the intermediate plates. About to go for a parts run for the thermostats. :)

Roland,

Here's a link to a map for Reliable Diesel: http://maps.google.com/maps?client=safa ... =en&tab=wl

Their address is 3057 E. Main St. Nice folks, though I've only used them once - for my first LOF. They are somewhat familiar with our engines, but don't profess to be experts on CRDs specifically.... they are, however, Cummins nuts. I'm sure they can figure the timing belt out.

Let me know how it goes.
