Having determined that my my Saikoumichi CCV oil mist condenser does not work very well, I've been messing around with various ideas for my own based upon many other homemade traps people in this forum have built.

But they all still allow a certain amount of visible vapor through - even trying different finer filter media in larger & larger quantities and in larger & larger cans. (steel wool, synthetic pot scrubbers, etc...) This perplexes me.
(I checked the amount of blowby with my wife's 06 and it looks the same. )

Do you see anything coming out of the outlet of your own oil mist condenser?

The direct copies of other people's that I've tried didn't work for me; They were too small & didn't have enough filter media to do anything of consequence.
I have two more versions I'm going to try just for shts & grins: The Bongwater CCV that scrubs like a Rainbow vacuum cleaner and a chill tube that would just use a really long aluminum tube wrapped into a small coil submerged in a sealed canister of liquid.

I have been using a two canister system I built myself, no oil vapour gets back into the intake. I messed around with various designs and by trial and error and got it right. Slow it down, break it up and cool it off, thats the ticket!

a Provent won't smoke unless you blow the pressure release valve and that means you have a clogged hose somewhere, otherwise it does not vent to atmosphere.

So no it does not smoke.

Try this when it's dark:
Warm up the car, unplug the outlet side of your condenser and place something dark behind it. Shine a light at the outlet & look for any vapor coming out of it.
The ones I've copied with a piece of steel wool inside simply don't stop the vapor.

"Slow it down & cool it off" is probably a good way to view the problem. Based upon that . . . . Perhaps I should just make the chamber a bit fatter. More volume inside would make it like a wide part of the river where all the sediment settles out . .

Are you overfilling your crankcase? ( don't go by the dipstick, it's wrong)

No overfill. I know the dipstick is wrong.
Both my 05 and my wife's 06 are the same and it is really not much vapor coming out of it. I'd call it a normal amount of blowby. Its just my devices don't stop it and I'm wondering;
Are other people looking at their the same way I am - under the same conditions?
Perhaps it is catching the important stuff and is not actually a problem. The Saikoumichi is definitely not catching much as I can see the oily grime build up on the outlet. But maybe in the case of my homemade one it is just vapor that I'm seeing - perhaps because it's generally below 60 deg when I work on it . . .
It's harder to see when warm & bright daylight, which is why I'm wondering if people looked at their under the same conditions they would see the same thing.
