Hi There,

I've finally come to the realization that a CRD Liberty is the vehicle I need to tow my 3900 pound boat/trailer combo on the weekends and get back and forth to work during the week. I've done a lot of forum reading and am aware of the main issues that keep coming up, but I was curious about what y'all think as to any potential compression issues with an engine that has this mileage. I know a Diesel has a lot more life in it than a gasser, but there are still CRD's out there with only 65k miles on them and I figure that would give me a little insurance--I plan to put about 20k miles on it a year and keep it four about four to five years. Thoughts?

...PS, I'm still looking, so if anyone is looking to sell theirs...hit me up. I'd much prefer a car from a forum member as I figure it would be a little better taken care of than a civillian's model...

Make sure they changed the timing belt - or be prepared to change it as soon as you get it.
(it's scheduled for 100,000)

Other than that and standard CRD issues (fuel head, CCV, EGR - all with LOST fixes) 100K is just broken in.

might end up with some tranny upgrades on the towing side (or might not - some didn't have any issues)
