after driving the liberty kind of hard yesterday...I noticed weird shifting and high rpms when going slow. parked it for an hour or so, took off and it was fine. this morning it was shifting weird again for a couple of minutes. put it in neutral and the select trac in neutral...not seeming to have the problem at the moment.

ran it in AWD b/c of a lot of rain yesterday but didn't happen when in awd only after. thoughts?

lastly, filled up gas before as well...some of the gas seem spilled out from the pump when putting in...little green in color.

I hope you weren't putting gas in it. Diesel will typically have a green hue.

The transmission is adaptive, so if you drive it hard it will learn to shift hard and it will take a while to unlearn that.

X2 0n the adaptive transmission. Putting in the resistor to boost Line pressure is a waste of time unles you put in a switch to short the resistor when you don't need it. Otherwise, the TCM will learn around the resistor.
A couple years ago, some Dakota Owners were putting in GC 5.7L Hemi TCMs into their 5.7L Hemi Dakotas. The Dakotas then had the 5th gear that was disabled and the TCMs adapted to the 5.7L Hemi Dakota now 5 speed application.
For those of us who tow, we get sporty shifting for a few days after we unhook our trailers, then it goes back to normal.
