Post subject:  Move up the white oil filter

Hi

I just finished the preparation of my CRD 05.
Like you can see on the pics below, the white oil filter its very close the skids.
Here in france, i know that the 01-04 crd kj have a callback campaign to move up the filter.
But nothing on the 05.
Someone did this move ?
Any tips to do it its very appreciate :)

Thanks for for your help

Our filters are at the same location/angle. But the Jeep skid plates (and the aftermarket ones available here) are lower. They do not have the angled portion that raises it up above the level of the lower A-Arm front suspension frame, but rather are level wtih the bottom of that frame. I like the greater clearance available with your skid, though. Is that aluminum?

There are no relocation campaigns here, from DC. However, it is a stock thread on the oil filter mount, so you could just get an aftermarket relocation kit and move it.

From the looks of it, you need to tighten your oil filter as well, looks like oil dripping off the end of it onto the skid plate.

No, that's just because it's a cheap (in quality...not price) Mopar filter. My original Mopar filter leaked like that too. But it was so tight that I almost couldn't get it off.

I think you could buy a kit to move the filter, but I'd look into it some more before you do. Could be a tough project.
