If you can get a list of the stored fault codes, it will determine if there is a wiring problem. It is possible the cruise control needs to be reset inside the PCM, which a dealer can do or us (just need a DRBIII). With the key on, try just holding the on button for 3-4 seconds to see if the CC light comes on. As for the EGR code, here is our website you can review www.greendieselengineering.com There is plenty of info on how we eliminate EGR issues.

I think there is a tsb on this problem. I have read it but do not have at my fingertips. Try holding the cruise on button down for about 20 seconds.

ok, tried to hold the on button (and all the buttons) multiple times stil no light and no cruise ..... took the air bag off to check the swtch connections and what not.... all looked good.

EGR problem .... i'm under 50k miles and under 5 years old .... would this be covered under the emmission warranty thru the dealer?

what's the trunaround time to have green diesel reprogram my ECU? cause i certanly do not have the $500 core charge.......

If you overnight it on a Monday USPS Express, it should be back in your hands on Wednesday. We can also reset the CC inside the ECU if that is where the problem lies.

Check all your lights. I have gone through three tail light bulbs since I've had my 05. Every time a brake light or turn signal bulb fries, The cruise control quits working.

Does this sound dumb to anyone else? Wtf? I have not had a tail light go out yet in 5 years, but I'm glad you told me about this. I use my CC a ton (no tickets in 12 years) and I would have lost my mind if the CC sudenly went out.

The roads out here are hard on bulbs, headlights included.

In the past I've installed CC's on cars and it's common to use the switched side of the brake lights to kick it off when you hit the brake. So it's not dumb :goink:
I observed 3 cars, one a KJ, with the left brake light out yesterday within half an hour  Why the LEFT on all three :?:

But the CC light still should be on.

I recall some having cc problems caused by the clock spring.
