Interesting, while certain aspects scare me depending on the price point I am really looking at their little trucks. Many of my friends are indian and speak highly of these diesels

You will find Urea is going to be used in all diesels, light, medium, and heavy. But I agree, the rest of the vehicle sucks.

That might be an interesting vehicle in the $10k to 12K USD range. I, for one, would love a small diesel without all the BS electronics. . . . like the CRD is loaded with.

Hmmm, a VM without the Chrysler packaging would be better still.

onthehunt. Here's what they say about payload and towing :D
They have the largest payload of any compact pickup truck (2,765 pounds)* and an estimated 5,000 pound towing capacity*.

TJ2, Sorry but "all the electronic crap" is necessary to pass emmissions requirements. And unlike the VM that has a timing belt the Mahindra does not. So all those looking for water pumps would not be needing them :SOMBRERO:
And the M&M might be a REAL tractor engine

I hope they're smart enough to have a US call center staffed by English speaking Americans.

I too would like to see a under $20k price tag for the two door version :seuss:

I wonder if they were able to ditch their relations with Global Vehicles :goink:

Gassers are getting Urea too.
My brother who works foe Ford told me the new gasser Fords need it to pass the nitrous oxide regulations.
More proof that the Acid Head Hippies who run the EPA are out of control.
Time to cut their funding, their power, curtail their interpretation of the regulations, base the regulations on real science, and start downsizing the EPA. :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:

AMEN Brother!!

These trucks would be perfect replacement for my Landscape Biz. We run overkill 2500 and 3500 cummins right now..
I just started getting serious about upgrading the jeep though. :?

Mahindra has been selling a bunch of diesel tractors around here.

if you look at the history - they started in 1945 building copies of Jeeps - then got the deal to build International Harvester tractors in 63..

They have selling tractors in the US since 94 and have 3 assembly sites in the US.

This will be interesting.

Color me cautiously optimistic. I'm not in favor of any more of this EPA voodoo being layered into my engines, all they do is waste more fuel. Burning LESS fuel automagically makes LESS emissions. Why can't those fools at the EPA understand that simple equation?

As for this vehicle tho... I'm interested in the SUV option because of my work, I can't have an open truck. That, and I don't want an open truck. How long do we think until the SUV is approved by the nanny-state?

I hear the frames crack on them, lots of problems, and piss poor warranty support of any kind. Get an American one or a Japanese one. Good luck with your new pickups

I've had a chance to see these in person, and honestly I was fairly unimpressed. The quality looks run of the mill, certainly nothing special. The underhood layout of components is unconventional in the truck I saw, and doesn't really lend itself to an efficient design.

There are a lot better things in the pipeline...

Saw a Mercedes SUV with a 3.0 Liter Blue Tec Diesel, only $57K, I wonder how many Mahindras that would buy?
