I just love this machine .... Man she is fast.

I think were are all experiencing that, if you think to your self it is just a little 4 banger that blows away 90% of the gassers on the Interstate while pulling the steep grades, it will really blow your mind. I am sure our CRDs will easily take the 3.7 in that situation. I remember when I had my 98 TDI running with a V8 Crown Vic on I90 on the steep grades, man that guy look pissed that I was staying right with him, while he passed every one but me :goink:

I have had simular experances. I like it when I'm in the highway and I'm going plenty fast enough like say 75 the legal speed limit is 55 and I'm still passing folks. someone comes up behind me and tailgates me like they want to pass me then when the right lane opens up just a little they try to pass on the right. I then step on it and box them in nearly every single time. Oh the look of suprize on their faces when they are next to you and know they got burned by a cute little SUV :ROTFL:

Mikey don't like to be tailgated either :evil:

Sorry mate, I bought this little piggy for towing and going off road. I've had a couple Evos and a Cossie Sierra. I'm not terribly impressed with this thing's speed.

Well, sounds like you could use a dose of Green Diesel Hot or one of the other tuners.
I was going to do a post about my mileage creeping up to 24mpg even though I love to press the pedal to the metal and watch the black flow and the speed give a thrill.
My kids said they beat the CRD with the Pontiac Vibe, but the Vibe did not shut down in the turns.
This rascal will lug my 25' Airstream with out a problem too.
And it rattles like only a diesel can, so sweet.

You don't know what you're missing, strap yourself in and give the turbo a go.

You can drive her any which way you want, but understand this, she is not limited by lack of speed becasue she has plenty of that.

Go ahead drive her Off road, On road, in tow and when you're all done, the little Hog will still have balls left over to put hair on your chest while leaving the other drivers in awe.

Mate I've been ankle deep in the carpet in this thing. It's not going to impress somebody that's owned cars that weigh 2/3 as much with twice the horsepower.

It does okay for such a heavy car and having so much mechanical drag, but it's not fast.

My Scorpio is faster, handles better, and uses less fuel, so I'll continue driving it daily and using the Cherokee for a workhorse and off road toy...which is what it's FOR :)

Across the pound you have alot more choices for diesel vehicles, you have to understand our logic. Our CRDs are worth their weight in gold.

Yes you haveto understand that while the Crd that is still sold over there and still made here we can not buy it after the 2006 model year for the Liberty/Cherokee. We did get the Grand Cherokee untill 2008 in a CRD I think. Califorina Thinks Diesel emissions cause cancer or something just like everything else causes cancer in Califorina so they force the Federal Government to disallow them to be sold. we just don't get good small diesel vehicles Regularly other then the Jetta TDI and when we do the window is small.

These are more morefull than say a ford escape or honda CR-V and can tow more than both. Nothing in its size can compete.

The Cherokee is the first diesel car I've owned. Diesel is only appropriate in work vehicles and larger vehicles, like Jeeps and Landies. Petrol is only for the true enthusiast, as one of our CRD guys I've seen say about other things :D

Maybe in towing and off road, but I can't honestly say that the KJ is any better at anything that a normal car can do for doing normal car things :?

It certainly isn't faster, that's for certain.

Seriously?

Okay, the Mercury Scorpio may be a yawn-mobile (I think shooting myself would be on the option list if I actually had to drive one of those daily; the Merkur XR4Ti was much cooler), but the Libby is...well...a peppy, economical Jeep. It's a 4300 lb, body on frame, truck. If I'm thinking to myself one morning, "gosh, I want to get out and tear around the windy roads and have some fun," the Lib is not what rolls out the driveway -- I'd probably drive something with a "2.8L-equivalent" 247hp/396ft-lb. Although I do concur with your assessment about having to keep the VNT clean with a good crud blow-out once a week. :mrgreen:
