Can anyone share their experience with the GDE EcoTune?
Thanks!

Hit their website. They have testamonials on there. Opinions are all over this site too.

Go with their unlimited torque option if you pull anything but plan on replacing the torque converter if you have plain stock

Yes, I'd buy it again.

I could not imagine driving my Jeeps again with out the tunes. I bought 2 tunes if that tells you something, and a TCM tune. Keith is an Ally to the CRD owners.

Well worth it! Runs smoother with more power. Increase in MPG will pay for it.

Love it. Runs better, better fuel economy, it's a ball to drive now.

I got the full torque and TCM.
Mileage is up and it runs nice.

I'm very happy. Better MPG, better to drive, my oil is even cleaner after a few changes because the soot isn't going into the intake. After 3k on this oil, it's still sort of clear. Before is was black and evil looking. Best mod on the Jeep yet.

So is it necessary to change the TC before doing the Eco tune? Was going to do this on gramp's CRD but not if it requires pulling the trans and buying a $400 converter...

For the Eco tune, it is not necessary. The HOT Tune is the one that requires a TC change.

Awesome, thanks. Was worried there for a minute.

Your money would be best spent on the 100k tune-up, GDE Eco tune and THEN the TC when your wallet has recovered.

Where are you in Indiana? PM me....

Got the tuned ECM installed last night and am amazed at the difference. Really wanted the tune to take care of the EGR issues and maybe improve mileage but the power increase is amazing!

Boilermaker-
It's my G-pas Jeep, but I'm south of Lafayette about 20 minutes.

Got mine recently. According to EVIC, my drive to/from work and racquetball averaged 23.5 mpg. Now it is 27.9. I am curious to see if this holds or if I am being overly aware and not driving my normal way.

Anyways, at $3.00/gallon for fuel, payback will be at around 14,000 miles assuming a 20% increase in milage.

Notes so far: A small rpm runup at startup that is new. Less lag when pulling into traffic from a dead stop. A barely noticable different engine sound, more responsive throttle. I have yet to get on it as I got the full torque option and have not installed my new TC yet.

You are getting a new TC so hammer down on this one out of spite!

The idle flare at cold start serves a few purposes. First, it is our way of verifying the tune is installed. In colder weather the idle flare adds centrifugal force to the vacuum pump vanes helping to create a better seal and more vacuum supply to power the turbo quicker. It also gets the oil pressure up quicker and aids in idle stability.

Glad the tune is working well for you.

I've got the hot tune and some 10k miles or more on mine and no problems with the stock TC though I'm hoping I do before the 7-75k pt warranty runs out! I put the TCM tune in a few weeks back and I'm really impressed with the beast now. Just went through emission test here in Phoenix and opacity was 0.5% with an allowable 20%.

Anyone know where I can buy a used eco tune from? I recently became an 05 Jeep Liberty CRD owner and want to make it as efficient as possible.

Used?
Probably not gonna happen.
That would mean buying a GDE tuned ECU from someone who is not using theirs.
The tune file is matched to the VIN of the vehicle.

Got the GDE eCO tune back in 2010 or 2011, and love it. It increased the pull when towing and solved the EGR problems. My best mileage went from 29 to 34 mpg. I can vouch for it being a good investment.
