So tonight I finally got around to installing my SAMCO hoses
I figure "the hood is already open" sooooo.... I finally cleaned the EGR sensor and replaced the fuel filter with a new WIX. The original hoses were "oily" but no soft spots or tears. The smaller diameter hose on passenger side had one semi-loose clamp.
Took a little drive just to gloat over my handiwork and WOW!!!!
Much better response off the line, no hesitation beween throttle and GO! Also sounds quieter, less diesely (not that I mind her usual purring), and the EVIC says that I am getting about 4mpg's better. Yes I am aware the EVIC lies, but I am betting it has a method to it's madness and lies CONSISTENTLY.
So the question is THIS: Am I seeing these improvements because of the combined effect of these three "serviced items", or is it primarily due to ONE? If it is one, which one? Since the SAMCO's were $250+ and the others two were $20 and $0, I HOPE it was the SAMCO's
Next mod/upgrade will be GDE tunes: ECO and TCM, next week I hope.
