Hello all. I put on an inline auxillary Airtex fuel pump. However, it is loud and I can hear it very clearly inside. By the sound of it, it is a pulse type pump. How is everyone else's experience with the inline pumps?

I have mr gasket 12-D installed for a couple months on mine, the noise isnt even noticeable except right before start up, my jeep is straight piped from turbo back so it is a lil louder, but i wish was pump was louder, the louder the better!!

I put on a Faucet pump from NAPA and it cured my driveabilty problems so I took the plunge and put the Dodge/Cummins pump in the tank :SOMBRERO:

It was a inexpensive test to see if a lift pump was needed and in my case it was.

I also have a Kennedy pump and it has worked very well. It puts out a consistent 6 psi, but I had to add a fuel pressure gage to confirm it was working--it was that quiet.

I have an Airtex brand Duramax pump. It is a "shuttle" type pump and generates a noticeable da, da, da kind of sound when I key the ignition to "on", as it is mounted right under the drivers seat, on the frame rail. When the engine is idling I can hear it if I really try, but when the engine is under any power I can't notice a thing.

My Carter makes some noise, but when I got rid of the stock muffler, its' not a problem any more, I only hear it when the key is on before I crank to start. Rubber isolators and fuel line hoses will quiet it down a lot more than direct bolting to the chassis or frame.

Yes, I bolted it directly to the cross member support underneath the rear driver's side seat. I have some grommets that I could isolate the unit. Good idea. I will give that a try.

Fitted a Facet in the engine bay and also found it to be a bit noisy but it did the job until i replaced it with a Huco pump which is great.
