I played with my three Chinese air cooled diesel engines today, all copies of Yanmar engines Two are on generators and the "silent" 6500 watt one has egr and a cat along with two mufflers. But the 3500 open frame one does hot have any of that nonsence. My 9.6 HP that's not powering anything does not have any of that either Lots of noise around here today ![]() I used to own a 1938 Deer model AR about twenty five years ago. One of those two cylinder ones with two seperate tanks that started on gasoline and when warmed up you switched to "tractor oil" that I understand was a real low grade and according to what I read was $.08 delivered to the farm I ran used motor oil with kerosene and gasoline mixed in. |

My 97 Ram with the 12 valve Cummins. No Cat, No EGR, No DPF, indestructibly P-pumped, smells great in the morning. |

Actually I forget, I bypassed the emission control, I pulled the ULSD sticker off about a month ago when I fueled it up I had this thing since spring, and it barely has 14 hrs. on it due to the hot dry summer in the NE, grass was burnt all summer. Today I put a power flow on it to vacuum up the leaves. Joe, those Chinese engines are air cooled? That's something |

Here's the real McCoy they were copied from supposably, LN and LV series, under license. I have two of the "non certified" and one of the "certified" engines. http://www.yanmar.com/products/industrial-engines/ |

Well not exactly. Diesel have had emissions dictated cam and injection timing for a long time. So even if there is no emissions hardware on the engine, I bet some of these mentioned above have emissions stuff on them. Of course it doesn't have to stay that way. |
