So not every start, pretty much just the first cold start (around 10 deg Cel) in the morning, i get a little puff of white-ish smoke. I read up a little on other diesels online but couldnt find anything conclusive

Should i be worried? Any thoughts appreciated,

Thanks guys

Totally normal.

Diesels are heat engines, and when they are cold the first few rotations of the engine don't completely burn. The white smoke is the initial injection clearing the cylinder and not completely burned.

Because it stops, that means that your CRD is operating normally - The glow plugs add heat into the cylinder to get the initial fire going, the cylinders quickly get above 300 degrees and the fuel burns properly, and the glow plugs shut down as they should. You only need to worry if the engine smokes constantly.

Read through the CRD Noob sticky thread for the main items you should fix for protecting your engine, and enjoy your healthy CRD!

x2 You may notice that it is worse in the winter than in the summer, because of the colder starting temperature. Using the fuel heater plug will likely help, but it's nothing to be worried about.

Enjoy the ride! :JEEPIN:
