I installed the GDE TCM tune this morning courtesy of a TCM swap with them through the group buy.

First impressions: Very different. It shifts quicker without as much revving in the low gears. Once I got used to it, I like it a lot. It utilizes the low-engine-speed torque much more effectively than the stock tune. The TC now locks up at about 35 mph in third, so you are able to use full effective torque all the way into 5th lockup. Very nice.

The only negative (if it even is a negative) is that the TC unlocking under 35 mph is very noticeable. It clunks, then coasts easier. It's just something that will take getting used to while coasting to a stop.

Overall: another great product from the guys at Green Diesel Engineering. Now I need to replace my TC and get the Hot Tune so I can REALLY utilize the torque in lockup. 8)

@linewarbr,

Obviously, you're happy with the change! Can't wait to ship my TCM for the tune as well... I'm mostly eager to experience the difference in shifting plus the added bonus of releasing the extra HP's held back by that d...n stock TCM :evil:

I've read on other threads that some find the new TCM tune to be generating more droning sound from the drivetrain, in lower speeds/RPM's. What's your take on this?

I also installed the eco tune this weekend using the flash tool. The procedure was simple and speedy, maybe 10 minutes to read the stock program and another 10 minutes to install the eco tune. The results are outstanding so far. I should have done this a long time ago!!!!

I just got my TCM tune through the group buy as well. The transmission finally works like it should. A locked TC is a beautiful thing!

I have not noticed any droning sounds while driving, but I do get shudder around 50-55MPH in 5th, if I put my foot into it slowly with my GDE HOT tune. I love the torque but my stock TC does not. Time for a Euro TC.

GDE makes an awesome product for this CRD!
