When I try to accelerate hard from a low speed I seem to be getting a lot of hesitation. The engine winds up to about 3k rpm kind of slowly and then the trany shifts and it takes off. No problem after that. It isn't so bad that it is a hazard on the road but it is a hassle. Engine is a a fairly new stock 2.8L CRD and I have done the ORM and EHM mods and put in a K&N filter but no other changes. Any one have any ideas?

See if you have air in the fuel caused by a bad filter head with a burned heater. If your priming plunger is soft and you get bubbles when you crack the bleeder, that is the problem. Mine pulled crap like that until I added a lift pump and had the filter head replaced under warranty.

Good luck.

I will give that a try. I am going to put a lift pump on the CRD as soon as I have some time anyway and was already considering a fuel filter housing upgrade as well.
Thanks
