Howdy, long time lurker, first post.

Would like to say initially, that this is an awesome forum. Have learned much here. Thanks to everyone.

Now, for my current problem. 3 days ago I got the water in fuel light on my 06 CRD. On the way into town, it died. I was able to get it started and limp into town to get a new filter. When I changed it, the old filter was nearly full of water. Since I have changed it, it keeps stalling if I get on the gas at all. I can go 65 if I creep it up there, but as soon as I get aggressive with the accelerator, Bam, it dies. When it dies, if I cycle the key of then on, and put it in neutral, it will start right back up. I have had the filter off 3 times since then making sure the center o ring is not doubled up from previous filters (it was not), and that the outside ring is not tore up. Filter is on tight, no leaks on it or the lines.

Does anyone have any ideas what I might try next?

Is the primer plunger on the filter head firm? If not, there's air in there somewhere.

Sounds like you got a bad tank of fuel. You may need to drain the whole tank, change the filter and refill with fuel from a different station. Dump a bottle of Diesel 911 in there with it to flush the water out of the lines.

I would try draining the fuel tank to get rid of any water.

Yes, I have done the bleed t hing every time I took the filter off. Will give 911 a try. got a bottle in the shed I think.

Unscrew the Water in Fuel Sensor and let the water drain out of your filter. I made an adapter plate and switched to a Racor filter with a see through bowl so I can see the water and get 2 micron filtration. You should go back to the place that sold you the water (if you have a receipt) and get compensation for the cost of the filter and fuel.
Good practice to get a receipt and hang onto it until you use up the fuel or you are sure it is OK.

Here are the steps I took to rid the tank of bad fuel with water.

Immidiateky stop running the engine.

Drain the tank. I used a temporary lift pump in the engine compartment attached to the fuel line at the fuel filter with a drain line that drained into a clean plastic 30 gallon soap drum that I picked up at the local car wash.

Installl a new fuel filter.

Fill tank with clean diesel.

Pump fuel head.

Start vehicle.

Eliminate procuring diesel or biodiesel from that fueling station.

Wow, yes, never shop there again... and definitely see if you can get compensation for the fuel and filters.
