| Post subject: | EVIC Temp question. |
so I installed an EVIC today, works great looks nice and everything except the temperature reading works. I checked behind the grill and the temp sensor is there. So after reading the info again at this link http://www.jeepkj.com/evic/ it says that I either have an issue on the PCI bus wire or the sensor is guess is pooched. so considering there is only the one wire feeding data to the EVIC and everything there is working fine that leads me to believe that the sensor is pooched. Any way of testing the sensor to see if it's good? resistance? something? |

So I checked the sensor and it's working correctly... resistance is what it says it's supposed to be according the FSM. Maybe just a poor connection where I spliced the wire for the PCI bus.... |

Went back and looked at the forsale post I bought it from. LOL apparently the temp doesn't work due to a model year conflict. guess the thing came from an 01 GC. it has the homelink options on it. I also need to read for sale ads more carefully... lol |

Seems like I read somewhere that the '04 and older EVICs are compatible, but the '05 and newer ones were slightly different. The instant MPG feature is gone, I do know that. And the temp. reading is more difficult to make work. |
