I want to buy a trolley jack and axle stands to lift the KJ, is the 2 ton jack and stands sufficient or should i be looking at something like a 3 ton?

I went for 3 tons - the price difference wasn't much (I bought mine from machine mart here in England), and I just felt more comfortable with the extra margin.

For stands I bought mine in the US from Harbor Freight and the higher capacity ones usually support the Jeep highter. I have a set of these that are rated at 6 tons and extend to 24 inches. I Also have a 3 ton set that I find too short for the jeep. The heavier ones have a bigger base and provide more stable support.

For a "trolley" jack, we call then "floor" jacks in the US, my experience here is the same, heavier gives highter lift needed for the jeep BUT a inexpensive one like this tend to leak down because they are too cheap :juggle: I have one and it holds the jeep up long enough to position the stands listed above. I also have a 32 year old Sears Craftsman jack that holds fine but it was three times as much $$ 30+ years ago :2cents:

I have a 3 1/2 Ton from Sam's club - about 15 years ago - still works fine.

my brother gave me one of these a couple of years ago -

it's only 1 1/2 ton so I'm careful what I'm lifting - but it's light & easy to move
