Add a tuning box to a High Performance tune, you will blow smoke and may blow up your engine.
Let us know what fails.

GMCTD one of our Life Members who is now in another dimension, stacked up an Edge II on top of an InMotion Stage II by accident and scared the heck out of himself. He only tried it once and I don't recall if his exhaust or tires put out more smoke.
For me, I prefer the W.T.F. look on the face of a gasser driver when I shoot through the intersection with no smoke or tire squeal. My 215 80 R-16 Cooper ATRs rarely slip when I take off. The crap Good Years my CRD came with would spin if the wind was blowing too hard on the windshield. :ROTFL: :ROTFL:

The problem is..... smoke is not the best way to gain popularity for Diesel engine, they already try to remove us from the street and impose stupid regulation (AKA: CARB mother flower) Why giving them excuse to kick our bu**?

Ok maybe I phrased that wrong I'm not looking to roll down the road and blow smoke. I am looking for a tuner that has adjustability to turn it up when I go to a diesel outing for show off purposes. I drive 60 mile round trip a day and would also like to have the setting for fuel mileage also with a little more power

Well...you can add a cheapo 'powerbox' that tricks the signal from the fuel rail pressure sensor. Upping the rail pressure so more fuel is injected.

You can manually set a 'dial' on it, so it goes: up,upper, even higher, are you nuts, CEL! ;)

You can use that for your daily commute on a low setting (I do), little more HP but heaps more torque. Then when you want to show off, turn the dial to the max.

You can find these on EBAY.

The GDE Hot tune will make smoke at pedal to the metal, and give you economy at the same time. The smoke will be visible, but it wont look like a bombed Cummins that looks like it is burning coal.

Yeah I agree.... The ability to roll coal would be a cool thing for show off purposes... tailgaters... etc you get the idea.

and to be able to do it with a turn of a dial or flick of a switch would be the best option. I know in other situations aftermarket tuners have been able to add switches to their tunes that remove 5 degrees of timing (or whatever the customer deems he needs) or others add timing if you have the fuel to support the added timing.

I wonder if GDE could come up with a way to have a switched option for fueling.

the reason why you see so many cummins blowing massive amounts of smoke is because they have upgraded injectors or tune that dumps mass amounts of fuel to the point that the turbo cant keep up to burn all the access fuel, our jeeps come with vgt turbo so they spool up much quicker less turbo lag, there is an easy way to blow coal that will cost you nothing, disconnect your boost hose you blow lots of coal and it only takes a couple seconds to diconnect :ROTFL: :ROTFL:

Ok as a master diesel mechanic I understand taking hoses off and such to make smoke. I'm just trying to find a tuner that is adjustable on the fly

As Flman says, GDE HOT makes a little black smoke at full power. InMotion Stage II makes quite a bit more. (I used to have one.)
