A very cool looking Jeep J8 equipped with a VM Motori 2.8 Liter Panther engine, being sold in the US market via American Expedition Vehicles and participating dealers.

That is awsome.

I think I saw one in a magazine a while back that could be built custom to order. the body came separate then you had to choose the drivetrain and have it installed. you could even get seats in the back, hard or soft top, stereo and a/c. the price was a bit much though. I have to look for that and post it if I can find it.

$55,000 before the drivetrain costs, there are better ways to spend your money.

this article states $50k with engine and trans installed,

http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2009/04/ae ... uyers.html

I agree there are better ways to spend your money.... I'm hoping there will be a diesel Wrangler more for civilian use buy the time I'm ready for another Jeep and for less. Limited production runs and uber custom build runs up the cost.

Yeah, I'm going Ram 2500 Cummins next time around. Nice Jeep though, but $55,000... Well, we all know someone will buy it if they haven't already.

Exelent video. Anybody saw the system of EGR (on 1 min 37 sec ) ?
No EGR air control valve (with blade) on the air inlet elbow. Also I do not see a EGR valve.

How about ecology ?

There is a regulated (Euro 4, non-DPF version) and a non-regulated version of the J8, depending on what market buys the vehicle and what the laws are in the region it's being operated in.

The Non-regulated version has no egr/throttle/catalyst. The regulated version (Euro 4) has a "normal" EGR/throttle valve and oxidation catalyst.

The cylinder on the front is a condenser which allowed water boiling over from the radiator to be re-used.
