I installed the SEGR on my CRD last week. Except for the CEL going out I didn't expect much to change. However the jeep seems to be running better now. It was running ok before but I was getting a little hesitation when the engine was cold and excelleration up hill was not great. Now the engine is running smooth and the excelleration is great. Is this just a coincidence or does the SEGR do something I wasn't aware of?

Not a coincidence. The emissions controls basically trip over themselves trying to keep things within limits and make the engine run so awkwardly in stock form. Between the egr valve cycling and the intake throttle flapping it's a nightmare. Now you don't have that. Enjoy!

Yep, technically, it takes the inputs from the sensors and EGR control signal and spits out what they SHOULD be (not what the EGR actually does), so you have a all of the electrical behavior of a perfect EGR to keep the rest of the engine control systems happy AND no nasty garbage to foul your cylinders (i.e. exhaust soot).
