Mine and I think most have a sticker on the front of the timing belt cover warning that we have 7 VOLT glow plugs :seuss:

Summit is getting theirs in too.
Call or email, they are happy to help, that is what good sales people do :pepper: :pepper:

All you need is the original part number they had the originals when I ordered last month.

When VW went through the Dump Bosch ceramics gig (most were broken by clumsy techs), they went through new controllers, flashes, hard starts, Bla Bla Bla.
Then they went to NGK metal covered ceramics.
I heard a lot of TDI PD owners are putting in the NGK metal covered ceramics and they work great with the original controller and flash. I am going to let others be the Lab Rats and stick with what has worked.
If history repeats its' self, we will have NGK metal covered ceramic glow plugs that will work with the original flash and controller.
Why is Chrysler doing this crap?
Acid Head Hippies over here and Hash Head Hippies in Europe who want to see the Auto Companies jump through hoops trying to reduce emissions for the first block of driving, maybe two blocks on a cold day.
The Hippies don't care about hard/no starts either, they are anti car/truck/suv jerks:twisted:
Nothing more or less.

Well I found a set of the new plugs, the kit with the relay but I have been told by the dealer that has them that they don't have an update for them!
I talked to Keith at GDE and he said that the new plugs with out the update would just burn up because the voltage is too high.
I am thinking about going to get the new kit and installing the relay and maybe taking a multimeter to see what the output is before actually hooking up the new plugs.

Would I be able to get a good reading from the 4pin connector that connects the glow plugs? I guess I should check to see what it is now.

If anyone has any ideas let me know, and if I end up ordering the old ones and I get them ha, I will let everyone know for sure !

The controller pulses 12V to give you effectively the 7 volts you need. Any reading you get would vary from VOM to VOM depending upon how it made the average reading, over simplified, but it makes the point.
Kinda like I look forward to fly on the first commercial aircraft with Gravometric Drive Engines as conceived by Tesla, but I am not holding my breath. AS I said before, I am not going to be the Lab Rat on this one.
