When I drive for a couple of hours at highway speed I get a CEL. If I then do a couple of cycles of in town driving the CEL goes away. Code is for turbo over boost. This is the same code I got when the MAP was gunked up but it went away after i cleaned it. Checked the MAP sensor and it isn't real dirty this time. I am thinking the sensor is going bad. Is there anyway to test the sensor to be sure that is the problem?

Turbo hose into or out of intercooler has failed; probably into (look for a split on the bottom of the hose from the turbo). Search the site for Samco.

Is this something that can wait to be repaired or should it get done asap?

if you do have a boost leak through one of the hoses, which most likely is hose from turbo to innercooler i would replace the hoses soon before the entire hose blows apart and then you will have no boost and jeep will not be driveable unless you like going slow and blowing lots of black smoke

I checked the hoses this morning. They look ok, no soft spots or degraded areas. After running the engine for a few minutes I turned it off and could hear a low hissing noise for a few seconds. Is this hissing normal or an indication of a leak?

I have the same problem on my jeep, so far I've cleaned the sensor, took of the hose's and inspected them, they are good, inspected the small vacuum hose to the waste gate all is good there two, when i took of the inlet hose to the turbo it was oily, ive have since done the EHM,
the turbo vanes were very dirty but there was no play in the rotor and so I thing the turbo is ok,

Now I've have two question,( 1) how can i clean out the CAC and has any one put a drain bumb on the bottom of the CAC for draining off liquids that build up in there.

(2) I've have a 03 2.5 how can I check if the waste gate is working as it should, and hase any one got pictures of this older turbo, so I can get an idea of what I am working with,

Shouldn't need to clean the CAC...just running hard with good air flow should blow any oil right out.
