Saw these on ebay today and was curious if anyone had heard good or bad about them...

Never heard of them, but they're only 8 months old as a company. That chart on Ebay isn't doing them any favors! They show ~ 88KW hp if their tuner is used, but your CRD comes with 120 KW from the factory. Torque with their "TDI" tuner is shown as ~ 260 NM, but the CRD comes from the factory with 400 NM. Power boost appears to be headed in the wrong direction. The charts on their site shows old CRD engine power ratings, lower than the 2.8 CRD sold starting in 2005. Hard to tell if any power gain will be there.

After looking at their site, their Jeep CRD module has this explanation of how it works:

"The PowerBox CR increases fuel pressure at the pump to maintain rail pressure in the mid to upper operating ranges. In effect, pressure accumulates faster in the rail and is readily maintained to deliver more power and torque. The PowerBox CR engages when rail pressure is at or above 1,600 bar or 23,000 psi."

Loco -

I actually just purchased one of those last week. I haven't really been able to tell what kind of mileage I get with it but it does "seem" to have slightly bigger balls. I'll let you know what I think next week after a couple full days of commuting...

Ranger -
Their site seems to be a little contradicting... but I think this is how the box "really" works (and this is also what my documentation states as well):

"The PowerBox intercepts the signals that pass back and forth and modifies them to create an increase in power by altering the timing and duration of injection."
"Will not harm your engine; does not increase injection pressure "

Yes, that is confusing. You would think they would know how it actually works.

Sorry for not responding sooner, I have been sick...

After 2 fill-ups, I can say that the CR-powerbox has not increased or decreased my milage (which kinda stinks,... I was hoping for a small increase).

As for the increased power, I am a very conservative driver so I am probably not the best canidate to judge power differences but I think it *feels* a little more powerful. I don't have any numbers to support my claim but thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

Overall, $200 isn't much and I don't regret purchasing it... but I think as with anything: you get what you pay for.

Thanks

- Jay
