This one has 0ver 100K miles, right at the Timing belt change interval. I hope they can document this was done, or knock a couple of thousand off?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... &viewitem=

I think I will ask if it was done?

If it's in as good a condition as shown in pics and drives solid, if you can get it at that price or close, would be a good buy even if timing belt work has to be done. There has been a few sold in the last several months up in the mid teens that appear very similar.

That is my plan: drive it to 100K then sell, let the next guy have the timing belt fun. I'm only at 40K now.

Besides being in a accedent and it usutained moderate damage in the rear is was a rental, fleet ot lease :dizzy:

On the good side it was in Florida and didn't see any road salt.

And I'm sure being a rental or in a fleet that everyone drove it extra careful. They probably even took the time to let the turbo cool after "easy" driving in the hot FL weather. I bet they even did the elephant/provent as well as a SERG for better long term reliability.

Got the response on the timing belt, at least they are honest. And you can feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing it was inspected and will go another 100K :ROTFL:

The CRD would be the worst choice of a fleet/rental vehicle. I can only imagine the amount of gas put in it. Lease would be my bet.

I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand nor would I take a plug nickle for them actually looking at the timing belt given its location. That said if you read the history notes carefully it was purchased in Sept 05 new driven 66,949 miles to Feb 08 when it appears to have been traded in at a dealer and sold in May 08; resold May 09 at 76,370 miles which is when it appears in an auction that is "announced" as fleet/lease which likely translates into most of the vehicles in the auction are fleet/lease; resold Aug 09 and driven until it was picked up at auction Feb 11 some 6 months or so after the accident report. All of the records place the vehicle in roughly the Ocala area of Central Florida which makes me suspect snow bird single ownership especially for the 1st purchase. Auctions usually result from a vehicle being traded to a dealer who doesn't want to keep it on their lot. The accident report note is not clear if the Jeep was hit in the rear or if it hit another car in the rear but one could probably get a copy of the report and find out or Carfax may be more clear on what happened. Per Jeep all recalls have been done.

My conclusion is it's likely a bone stock CRD Sport that's worth looking at if you are close to High Springs but there are a number of things that need to be looked at in addition to the possible accident damage and the need for a timing belt such as tstat, intercooler hoses, etc. All the NOOB stuff.

PS. High Springs not being that big I did a bit of a Google search and this Jeep is at Jim Douglas Used Cars (see http://www.cars.com/for-sale/searchresu ... lId=462580) scroll to the bottom of the page for a listing and a free Carfax report link. Looks like the 2n owner was a personal company lease and the company went bankrupt. As to the accident the Jeep hit another car but not hard as the air bags did not deploy.

My Sport I purchased used showed as a fleet/lease, no biggy, lots of people lease so they can do an easy trade in. I agree I would not write this off site unseen.

Yep, nice but "way" overpriced for a 3 yr. old vehicle no matter what the condition or milage.

Looks like they changed their tune on the timing belt after 3 people asked.

Quote:
Q: Has the timing belt been changed yet? Are there any leaks from the engine or transmition? Is any of the accident damage visible or has it been repaired completely? Do you provide temporary tags to drive it to home state? Thanks! Justin Mar-19-11
A: We have the belt ordered, The plastic bumper was damaged, but we replaced it, no leaks from any where and yes we make temp tags
