Post subject:  CRD Wreck/salvage Alert: engine looks good

Sad but true, my 2005 CRD is a total. Just Moved to Houston on Sunday and some teenager almost kills my entire family smacking us into a spin while trying to cut over to her exit. To it's credit, it did not flip (maybe my driving helped..maybe). Welcome to Houston!!!

If you are a Sir Sam kinda guy email me fast. The over-under for my insurance is about $4,500, so that's what I'll ask.

If you followed this forum, you know I've had a EHM since day 1 and also the ORM since it was discovered. I think there was 67k on the ODO. Ran Biodiesel in it for the first 2 years in varying mixes, only ASTM spec commercial stuff (I worked at a biorefinery). Engine and radiator are fine, engine was running after the accident. Email me for pictures (never did get good at posting them). Email is: niznikpaul at geee male dot com. Can arrange for you to go see it at the lot.

This ends my long run on this forum unless someone is foolish enough to part with their CRD. I've enjoyed contributing and will struggle to find a good diesel vehicle for my family. Let me say for the last time: remember to uplug your fuel filter heater!

Best,

Best,

Insurance buy back is $4500?

(I'm not a gambling type so I don't really know what an over-under is)

What I mean is the difference between what the insurance pays. If they keep the wreck, I get $4500 more dollars. so it is only worth it to me to sell it if someone pays me $4500 or more.

A CRD enigne block lists for $6k so that might be a deal if you have the bread to toss out for it. KJ119 I think still needs an engine.

I'm feeling foolish and am thinking about selling my 06 CRD Sport with tow package, Provent CCV, Racor filter head, Kennedy Lift Pump, GDE eco tune, heated driver's seat, 1 1/2 year old Michelin tires (2/3 thread left). Mileage is 91k miles and growing each day...going on a 3,000 mile round trip next week so it'll be higher when I return. Thinking of selling to return back to a TDI. I use my Grand Cherokee CRD for towing and offroading. Contact me if you are interested.

Normally I would ask for photos, but I'm too broke right now to even consider buying it, best of luck on your sale or getting a new one.

I'm interseted. Email sent. It seems to me that Chrysler is trying to price these things out of existance with the rates they charge for new parts.
