Stage 2 of my build has been iniated! At a cost of 1600 in parts and 17 man hours (total of 3500$) Im having the Suncoast TC and the rebuild kit (clutch pack) installed! Im excited to see how the rides improved with the valve kit and other tweaks it makes in shifting. Was just getting the shift kit and TC but figured since it getting done might aswell do it all  full report to follow.

You will love it. Protect it with a Magnifine filter, cheap insurance.

Go to Magnifine's web site and read up. I ordered the one with the 3/8" hose fittings. The magnet inside takes out the steel particles the filters miss plus the filter catches the stuff the other filters pass.

Post subject:  UPDATE

Well after 7 long days I get her back and OUCH WHIPLASH. The shop said it was test driven and tested, but I dont know. I get in and start her up, put her in reverse, no prob. Get to the first stop and imedately notice that its no longer trying to fight the brakes as it had been, for which im pleased. Next I pull away and notice that its much less responsive and notice by the time the first planitarys going from UD to 1st, the turbos allready spooling! Then got on the highway and NO OVERDRIVE! Oh and no coast.. Got her back to the shop pulled the codes, 237* after idleing ~20 min. And high temp warnings EVERYWHERE! Something about line pressure not allowing valves to operate properly. So 2+ hrs of labor and no jeep for another night

You're killing me here! If it's 'making metal' and a filter is your answer, you have bigger problems ahead . . . think about it. Yeah, you'll prolong the life of the tranny, but when it goes, it'll be catastrophic. As I said - THINK about it.

Woah there, hes just sugesting (sp?) a filter to protect the trans. Every thing with moving parts will have some shavings, especially when breaking in. Thats why the filters exist is to catch shavings and particulate from wear. Theres no need to freak out over some small shavings, now if your fishing out entire frictions from the pan its worry time.

I've owned several vehicles that have/had ceramic magnets in the transmission pans from the factory. Not 100% sure but I think that includes the AW4 automatic in my 00 XJ.
My 1993 VW Eurovan has one too as did my 1985 Chevy S-10 :SOMBRERO:

There is already a magnet in the pan of the 545RFE, I found it there when I was doing my transmission service (nicely covered in a fine cloud of metal dust).

This is where mine sits (photo is after it was all cleaned up and ready to re-install).
