The Aeroturbine web site has local dealers listed. I found Apache Mufflers listed and went there today and had mine put on. (I am in Mesa AZ. The only distributor in AZ I am afraid). I paid 150.00 for the muffler. Did not pay much more to get it put on, just one hour of labor. (The guy was selling the business to a new partner and he did not care how long the labor took-- he was just happy to retire I guess.)

It picks up quicker off the line now, you can tell the turbo is variable vaned now. Before it was put the pedal down, gutless-- and then bite your head off. Now it starts picking up right away. It is louder, however, under acceleration. Sound at constant cruising RPM is the same to me. Sound while idling is a little bit deeper. Don't know about gas mileage yet.

I cannot figure out why DC went to the expense of engineering/installing a variable vaned turbo to get boost sooner and then ruined it by putting a turd muffler/exhaust system on the vehicle. A comprimise made in a committee meeting with the bean counters, no doubt.

The engine and turbo are a drop in package from VM Motori. I would say the Muffler was a victim of parts standardization in the supply chain.

I was wondering the same thing about buying the muffler, the closest dealer near me is about 50 miles away, it might be worth the trip though if I could get the muffler for $150, the difference would pay for part of the install cost.
