Does anyone know or can they test to see what the stall speed of the suncoast torque converter is? Just want to see if it will be a good fit for a slightly larger turbo since it may spool a tad later than the factory one. Thanks! |

Classified info they will not divulge. In the past, manufacturers and competitors have ripped off the info with out paying for it. Now you know why the tight lipped attitude. Suncoast will build one if you need a little different stall speed, they will put in a different stator off their rack or have their CNC Guru crank one out, the results is what counts. Ron Wolverton developed the converter for the hottest tune that was available at the time using one of his friend's CRD who runs a Performance shop in Kentucky. I don't know the numbers (I guess about 225HP since that is the marine rating of the engine), but it was more than the Inmotion Stage 2, Rocket Chip, or GDE Hot Tune. One time, GMCTD slapped on a very hot tuning box (by accident when he flipped the switch) on top of an Inmotion Stage 2 tune that scared the crap out of him when he took off. Needless to say, the Suncoast converter good for 400HP survived with no wounds or other issues. If you use the LOST search function (which is wrist slitting boring to use) for his old posts, you might find it. GMCTD had his CRD hit by lightning which fried key parts of the electrical system, so he has lost touch with LOST and cruses the Dodge Cummins forums. |

I didn't realize that they offered custom units Worth a phone call to them. Thanks
