Hey ppl. I just bought and install a RB1 radio with navigation but the scree sometimes comes up sometimes it doesn't, now here is my question for those who might know. Does the body module has to be reset when installing this radio? Do I have to do anything else to get it to work properly?
thanks

I didn't have to do anything when I installed one in my 2001 dakota.

So the screen is just blank?
Sounds like something is wrong with the unit itself.

thnx for the response. Some times when I start up the car the screen wont light up and the buttons wont respond. however, I am still able to hear music and the volume dial is the only button that works. Is it there an special reset or something that needs to be done when install this radio? I notice that when I installed it the alarm light on the instrument cluster started working, which it didn't do before, this is just so disappointing :?

I'm sure it is.

IIRC there is a seperate wire for the PCI bus.

Maybe try unplugging it to see if there is a conflict somewhere.

If not it is probably the unit it itself.

It is most likely a bad unit. I seen have this on a 2004 GC Overland, it would work most of the time but not come on full like the OP says his does. what killed that one was me copying the Nav DVD from my Liberty that also has an RB1 but a more recent software version than the GC that did not come with a disc when bought used. I put the disc in and it started to update but never completed and now the RB1 only comes on to a black screen and an AM station that only comes in at night.

It is soon being replaced with an RAZ CD/Cassette unit.

Also my RB1 was replaced 2x under warranty according to service records so there have been issues with this radio even though it is a nice unit.

My plan with my RB1 is to use it until it dies then either replace it with a more standard Chrysler unit that will operate the changer and wheel controls or if i can blow more money get an after market NAV unit.
