I have a 2006 CRD attempting to start it the instrument cluster lights up then goes blank then lights up again but when the switch is turned on to the start position nothing happens just a click not sure if it is the starter solenoid relay or something else clicking....looking at web sites i am suspect of the shutdown relay not sure where that is located. question is has anyone else had this problem??????

Charge the battery....good place to start...Amazing what the CRD computer tries to do when it doesn't have enough juice to think straight....kind of like me in the morning before my second cup of coffee....*S*

X2 on the battery, also consider checking for wiring harness chaffing... Give particular attention to the area around the fuel filter head, it's a well known problem... Coldness and humidity can have adverse effects in this matter.
