Hello! I am flushing my coolant today, and it seems like its going to take a long time. Wondering how slow of a drain I should expect. I started about an hour ago and the thing mostly drips (consitently, but drips nonetheless) I think is going to take about 2 hours per drain, which seems too long. I might just work on cleaning the MAP and whatever else might take some of the boredom away.

Is this a bad sign of a clogged radiator or something like that?

I opened the radiator petcock, turn heater to max, and removed the expansion tank cap. Planning on adding distilled water and run for a minute, drain and repeat 3-4 times before filling up with proper coolant.

This is in an 2005 CRD Limited, Red.

I'll assume you fully opened the radiator drain on the lower passenger side but since it's hard to get too it's possible you did not. The easy tool is shown at viewtopic.php?f=98&t=56398 although a racheting wrench is easier than a standard open/box end and access can be difficult from the bottom and better if you pull the air filter box.

That said have you opened the radiator vent? The little cap with a vertical tab on the upper passenger side of the radiator. Doing so helps brake the vapor lock and drain the system faster. Best to turn it to like 4 o'clock and pull straight up to remove. Then when you refill the system you can simply pour 1.6 gallons of straight HOAT only (Xerex G-05 or equivalent) into the firewall tank; top off water until fluid comes out of that vent; reinstall the vent cap; complete fill; drive a bit to purge the remaining air and top off with water as needed.
