Axle Differential (front-rear) MoparT SAE 75W-140 (API GL5) Synthetic Gear Lubricant or equivalent. The 8.25 Corporate Rear Axle should use a SAE 75W-90 Gear Lubricant. For trailer towing, the lubricant should be replaced with SAE 75W-140 Synthetic Gear Lubricant. Models equipped with Trac-Lok™ require a friction modifier additive. |

Regarding the rear axle fluid, is there a shelf life for the fluid once it is opened? In fact, is there a shelf life for any of the fluid we us for our jeep once it has been opened? Peace, Scott |

Oil, gear lube, and antifreeze - no. Brake fluid - I would not store after opening just because of possible atmospheric water contamination. ATF and power steering - I don't know. |

From my 2006 owners manual: "Axle Differential (Front) Mopar Gear & Axle Lubricant (SAE 80W-90) or equivalent." Yet another detail that Chrysler cant make their minds up over |
