The pressure switch under the front passenger seat on an 05 Liberty CRD is triggered by weight. That seat pad is actually a bubble pack inside the seat foam. This pressure sensor sends line pressure down a 1/4 inch hose. The hose is attached to an electric trigger that sends variance of pressure data to the computer. There are 3 wires connected to the trigger. 1. green 2. green and orange 3. green and purple How do you test this? Air Bag light is always on. It goes out after turning on ignition then goes back on and stays on. The Passenger air bag light is on. The AB light on passenger side fluctuated after the visit at the dealer. It was working fine before the visit. |

It may just need to be recalibrated. Mine started exhibiting this behaviour when it was a couple of months old. Dealer recalibrated and it's been fine ever since. |

There is usually someone parting a wrecked one out. You will prolly have to take the whole seat but I would imagine still cheaper than going to the stealership |

I have found a front seat right with electrics at the Local Government Auto Salvage. I will replace the old seat and test to see if the AIR BAG lights go out. If not, I will have to resort to underworld procedure. I heard that the 04 Liberty may not talk to the on-board computer, being designated data circuit. The ECU don't forget will not connect to the dealership equipment. They're the one's that triggered this problem in the first place. |

The sending unit (trigger) might be vehicle specific, when I swapped my seats my light would come on all the time untill I swapped out the connector/plug/trigger with the one originally in my jeep. That being said, I too think it might need to be recalibrated, even a new one might not work for sure |
