Hi there,
I have only been a Liberty CRD (Cherokee Sport) owner for a few weeks now - and I can say they are an awesome vehicle!
My specimen is a 2003 model - 2.8L turbo deisel auto, and has done around 160,000K.
I have some oil drips appearing now underneath when I move out of the garage. It's definitely engine oil (by the colour) and position - so I was wondering if anyone has done a RMS replacement, and how successful it was?
Cheers Paul.

Before you go through the trouble of removing the transmission to swap out the rear seal, check other sources. Even a leak from the crappy oil separator puck or hose on the top of the engine can run down the back of the engine, into the bell housing and drip out the bottom. On mine, I was ready to do the deed, but I looked on the valve cover and found a leak at the hose that attached to the puck. When I made and installed my oil separator, I used low pressure hydraulic hose that did not leak.
Another source of a possible leak is the oil pressure switch, they do go bad, but are a lot easier to replace than the rear seal.
Check before you break out your wallet and tool box.
